Sasha’s Guidestone Ohio Success Story

Sasha’s Guidestone Ohio Success Story

Sasha grew up in inner-city Cleveland, surrounded by drugs, violence, and poverty. With no rules or agenda set by her mother, Sasha and her younger sister were often left to fend for themselves. Then at ages 12 and 5, the girls were removed from their home by social services.

Over the next few years, the girls were moved between multiple foster homes. This instability and lack of commitment made Sasha resentful, and she grew to distrust people. At age 15, Sasha was placed in the foster home of Ron and Dee, Foster Parents with Guidestone. During her three years with Ron and Dee, she let go of her anger and blossomed into an adult woman with dreams, joy and a newfound respect for her past.

“Guidestone has not been just an agency to me, but more like a family,” says Sasha, “They were the stepping stone in changing my life and starting my walk to success. Their Foster Care program is the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
