Sam’s Guidestone Ohio Success Story

Sam came to our Pro-Kids Juvenile Court Diversion program after he started skipping classes and getting into trouble at school. “When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, things seemed to fall apart all around our family,” says Cindy, “My husband lost his job. Our son Sam started skipping school and acting up. We were hit from every direction, and we felt hopeless.”

But hope soon came through the support of Angela, a Pro-Kids and Families Program Caseworker at Guidestone. “Angela gave us advice on how to talk to Sam and get him back on track,” Cindy explains. Today, Sam is doing better in school, and is helpful at home. He has a great attitude, and his mom and dad are amazed at the changes they have seen. “The change in Sam is night and day.

He’s more respectful, and I can see him trying to do better at school. My husband and I are also different. We accept responsibility for Sam and are more capable of handling him.”
